Why Have A Root Canal?
Endodontic treatments, more commonly known as root canals, are necessary when the pulp of your tooth becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes such as deep decay, repeated dental procedures on your tooth, or a cracked tooth or chipped tooth. We then carefully clean and shape the inside of the canal, a channel inside the root, then dry, fill and seal the space. Often, a dental crown is placed over your tooth for further protection and to restore your tooth to full function. After restoration, the tooth continues to function like any other tooth.
